Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community. Church members are encouraged to find their place in ministry. Below is a listing of ministries designed to provide opportunities for involvement within our local church and community.
Teaching Ministry
The task of each Teaching ministry is help to bring children and adults into a personal, enriched, spiritual and informed relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. These ministries include Sunday School, Weekday Bible Study, Vacation Bible School, Annual Institutes, Annual Seminars, etc. Teaching is the ministry through which believers are initiated into the fellowship of the church and nurtured in the heritage, hopes, central commitment and mission of the church. Through these ministries, believers are helped to mature as Christians and to bear witness of their faith to inspire others along their Christian journey.
Evangelistic/Outreach Ministry
The task of the Evangelistic/Outreach ministry of St. Mary is to energize and encourage believers to share the gospel of Jesus Christ within their local community. It begins with proclaiming the wonderful works of the Father, as commissioned by Christ in Matthew 2:18. The following ministries have been designed to help the church complete this great commission: Evangelistic Ministry, Mission and Prison Ministry, Ruth Circle, Senior Mission, and our Sick and Shut In Ministry.
Prayer
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to seeking the Lord on behalf of ourselves and others. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, members are praying for our pastor, church members, special requests, and missionary prayer needs. And every Tuesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study beginning at 6:00 pm.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible to further the kingdom. All of our weekly sermons are available on CD and DVD. And in the near future, weekly sermons will be uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. Also we will maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication in the near future.
Music
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Every member is an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
